About Graphical Interchange Format
GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) is a file format created by CompuServe company in 1987, which is frequently used in the internet world today. GIF is one of the most widely preferred image formats around the world today, thanks to the support and portability it offers to its users. The GIF file supports up to 256 different colors, including 8 bits, pixels, and the beginning of each image. Although this file format does not have a very useful color gamut for professional photos and images, it is extremely useful for simple-to-use images and graphics, logos. GIF images are created using the lossless compression method called Lempel-Ziv-Welch, and there is no degradation on the actual quality of the image.
About Webp Image
WebP is a lossy compression type image file format, just like JPEG, developed by Google and thought to replace other image file formats on the internet world. Google years ago developed a new visual extension, WebP, together with WebM video technology, and made it available as of 2012. The feature of WebP is that it compresses just like JPG, but unlike JPG, WebP shaves off the unimportant details on the image and saves 40% of storage space in terms of file size compared to JPEG. In other words, with WebP, visual files are compressed as closely as possible to the original version, allowing only the details to disappear, and occupying a minimum of 40% less storage space, especially JPEG and other file formats. Thanks to the WebP extension, both the load on the servers is much less and the visual files are opened 40% faster than other files by the users' devices. Especially considering the fact that the internet world is colorful now, the WebP file format is really important for both users and webmasters.
